Keeping Humble

Nice little quotation attributed to Edward Wallis Hoch., Marion (Kansas) Record (1849-1925) that I have kept handy for years.  Sometimes when I say, or think something wrong, this little quotation has a way of finding a home in my thinker.

There is so much good in the worst of us,

and so much bad in the best of us,

that it hardly behooves any of us

to talk about the rest of us

  1. Thanks friend, for reminding me I’m not as hot as everyone says I am :)

  2. laymond

Its a great pleasure to inform you that your not so hot! :)

Sometimes we become legends in our own slime; that can get scary…

  3. that’s a great quote! definitely humbling. :)

  4. Lisa

This quote has always been one of my favorites, and while it’s been around a while, it still packs a lot of great thoughts in just a few words.

  5. Hey man, funny quote.
Also, I was very glad to see your assistance to Preacher Man.

I will try to use it as well.
I have written it down and put it in my wallet.
I want to thank you for all you have done in my life.
I hope you have a wonderful week Larry! :-)

  7. Hey Larry,
I was thinking about you quote this afternoon and wanted to come back and read it before I forget it.

Glad you liked the quote. It certainly makes us think before we jump to conclusions.

Hope your feeling better this week.

  10. Hey Larry,
I added you to my ‘blog roll’. Now, before I tell all of my network to visit your blog, can you stop by my blog to just kind of give me a heads up on whether you are up to reciprocal commenting.
They will be sure to read your blog. They will also comment. But, they will expect a visit from you also.
